There’s a lot going on this weekend!  This blog entry can be your one stop to find out everything essential!  Programs will also be available for free at the library during the event.

Friday, July 21

At the Flint Public Library, 1026 E. Kearsley St.:
6 PM · Main Reading Room · Featured Readers: Kelsey Ronan and Christine Maul Rice
Followed by a light reception.

At the Golden Leaf Club, 1522 S. Harrison St.:
8 PM · Open-Mic Night, emceed by Nic Custer
Cash Bar, Ages 21+

Saturday, July 22

At the Flint Public Library, 1026 E. Kearsley St.
10 AM – 12 PM · Room 204: Generative Writing Workshop with Christine Maul Rice (registration closed)
11 AM – 4 PM · Room 205: As Read by the Author… Local and regional writers share their work.
12 PM – 5 PM · Main Reading Room: Panel Discussions… Conversations with local experts on reading, writing, and publishing.
1 PM – 5 PM · Main Reading Room: Book Fair… Local and regional authors and published share information and sell books and journals.
6 PM · Main Reading Room · Featured Readers: Sarah Carson and Christopher Paul Curtis
Followed by a light reception.

WHAT ABOUT MONEY?
The Flint Literary Festival is free to attend.
However, many authors, publishers, and vendors will be selling books and other materials at the festival. They may not accept payment by credit or debit, and there is no ATM service in the Flint Cultural Center.  Please ensure that you bring enough cash for any purchases you may wish to make at the festival.

WHAT ABOUT FOOD?
Food and drink is available for purchase at Palette Cafe in the Flint Institute of the Arts, just next door to the library.

WHO PLANNED THIS EVENT?
The Flint Literary Festival is a partnership between Gothic Funk Press, the Flint Public Library, and East Village Magazine.
The Flint Literary Festival Planning Committee consists of Scott Atkinson, Bob Campbell, Connor Coyne, Katie Curnow, and Jan Worth-Nelson.
